about page pic_2x.jpg
Hey there,

I'm Tessa Barron, Developmental and Acquisitions Editor for FFF and
BHP (also I run the website). At Foul Fantasy Fiction, we love books that transport readers to other worlds. Whether it's a world of wizards and dragons or a post-apocalyptic wasteland, we're fascinated by the possibilities of what could be.

If you're looking for a new favorite author or series, you've come to the right place! We're a small family-owned company with a big heart for all things dark and dangerous. Our blog is updated every Wednesday and Friday with new discussions on the craft of writing and rants about various topics that have rubbed me the wrong way.

In The Fair, I discuss some of the best fantasy, sci-fi, and horror have to offer. I'll tell you what authors did right and how you can do it too.

And you can probably guess what The Foul is. I'll examine the worst and most common mistakes that have come across my desk and tell you how to avoid them.

I post a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror-related topics as well, discussing some deeper issues in the industry. And keep your eyes peeled for guest posters like K.E. Barron and the always weird and hilarious Alex Ganon.

Thanks for stopping by.
The Editor, Tessa

FFF's Mission Statement:

Helping independent authors write better stories that explore unique territory, while providing a platform for readers to enjoy boundary-pushing fantasy, science fiction, and horror.

Foul Fantasy Fiction strives to be the go-to publisher and literary platform for writers of speculative fiction who want to explore unique territory, push boundaries, and take their readers on unforgettable journeys. We aim to help our authors grow as storytellers and create works that will inspire, entertain, and challenge readers everywhere.

ABOUT THE EDITOR

Tessa Barron is an experienced developmental fiction editor. She started her career editing limitlessly dull academic papers until she just couldn't take it anymore. After moving to adult fiction editing nearly a decade ago, she has now switched directions again and spends most of her time writing, and teaching authors how to avoid the mistakes she has come across in her career.

*Update*

For any comments or questions regarding the blog or FFF website, please direct your inquiries to Editorial. That way, they can be answered as soon as possible.

Please send only submissions for publication to the Submissions email. Other requests will not be answered there.

BHP and FFF are now working on a licensing model for new publication agreements. Authors keep all rights, and all contracts are non-exclusive. Authors are not paid advances but are given royalties on sales of our licensed editions of their titles. All accepted titles will receive full editing, new typesetting, and original cover layout.

That being said, we will only accept indie titles (previously unpublished or self-published) of exceptional quality and storytelling. We are attempting to grow a brand with a reputation for promoting only the very best indie work and helping writers get there.
